The
resort of Costa Del Silencio (the ‘Silent Coast’)
lies on the south coast of Tenerife and is situated
approximately 12 kilometres from the Reina Sofia
International airport, the island’s southern
airport.
The resort was one of the island’s
first areas to be specifically developed for tourism
back in the late 1960’s and is still a popular
tourist destination for those seeking a quiet and
relaxing break. Although the resort doesn’t have a
beach, those wishing to do a spot of sunbathing will
need to take a ten minute scenic walk along the
coastal path into the neighbouring resort of Las
Galletas where a black pebbly beach can be found.
Breaks to Costa del Silencio are about
lounging around the pool or taking walks along the
scenic coast as attractions in the resort are limited,
so if you’re looking for a little adventure then
hire a car and explore the surrounding area. The
resort features many tourist facilities including
three supermarket complexes ideal for those on
self-catering breaks as well as a handful of bars,
cafes and restaurants in which to spend a pleasant
evening. Costa Del Silencio is the perfect choice for
those seeking a peaceful break in Tenerife.
