Beaches
The
resort lies on a rocky coast with three small
beaches of black sand, including the pretty Playa
Jardin which has a tropical backdrop of palms and
cacti, a restaurant, playground and bandstand.

You'll
find plenty of restaurants, especially in the
small streets leading off the Avenida de Colon.
Try local specialities such as 'cocido canario', a
robust beef stew, or sample fresh goats cheese
from the spa town of Vilaflor.
Nightlife
Puerto
de la Cruz boasts a lively nightlife with plenty
of bars to choose from for your evening
entertainment. For something a little more
glamorous, you can dress up for a night at the
beautifully situated Casino Taoro, one of Europe's
most luxurious casinos.

the lively and varied shopping on offer along the
Avenida de Colon or why not explore the more
sophisticated shops in Santa Cruz? There is also a
Sunday morning flea market to be found in Santa
Cruz and many duty-free shops for those of you
wanting to bag a bargain.

information
The
Loro Parque is a man-made nature paradise in
Puerto de la Cruz. It houses a shark tunnel and is
home to the largest collection of parrots in the
world in addition to hosting dolphin, parrot and
sea-lion shows plus the latest exhibition, Planet
Penguin, with over 200 Antarctic and tropical
penguins. The variety of attractions on offer is
quite spectacular and enough to keep young and old
entertained all day. On arrival, the visitor is
met with a beautiful Thai village set on a lake.
Inside you can admire the jungle-like gorilla
enclosure and Orchid House, plus lots more!
Alternatively, explore the spectacular volcanic
landscapes of the Parque Nacional del Teide and
the peak of Mount Teide itself – a cable car
takes you almost to the top in just eight minutes.
